Saltbox Platform Release Notes for October 19, 2023

This feature release includes support for auto-loading visual data mapper sources, viewing variables on message trace, usability updates and bug fixes.

New Features

• Automatically load sources in Visual Data Mapper using previous workflow executions.

  • Easily create new mappings

  • Fire an update manually, or allow Saltbox to do automatically this whenever the Visual Data Mapper is edited.

  • To enable auto-updates for existing workflow maps, go to Workflow Settings > Message Processing Settings > Other Options and enable the setting “Allow map sources to be updated automatically when map page is loaded”. New workflows will enable this setting going forward, but existing workflows can choose to opt in using the toggle.

• View output variables in Message Trace for successfully executed actions. Expand the “Action Results” section. If any output variables apply to this action, they will be listed at the end of the “Action Results” section.

Updates

• Usability Updates:

  • Visual Data Mapper spacing and icon updates to help with readability.

  • Visual Data Mapper setting for “Map Type” has been moved to the top of the tab.

  • Workflow Designer “Move an Action” feature has been simplified. Use the grab handles to move an action or branch within the workflow.

  • Message Trace now displays a “settings” icon instead of an “edit” icon to reflect that this section is read-only.

  • Added snappy animations to drop-downs, accordions, etc.

Bug Fixes

• Bug Fixed: Copy/Paste of an action that uses a “user-defined” map name or inside a “for each” loop is incorrectly shown in the conflict resolution dialog (69282 69430).

• Bug Fixed: Can’t change “Last Run Date” due to incorrect validation error (69410).

• Bug Fixed: Workflow Designer option to “create an output message” sometimes doesn’t display the new option in the list until the page is refreshed (69436).

• Bug Fixed: Renaming a workflow sometimes causes issues in the trigger (66512). This fix applies to previously renamed workflows as well as any workflow that will be renamed in the future.

• Bug Fixed: Can’t move switch cases within a switch branch (68639).

• Usability Fixed Bug: Menu layout fixes for long names and sub-menus (69282 69405).

• Usability Bug Fixed: Assets “Shares” dialog layout doesn’t display consistently (67035).

• Usability Bug Fixed: Raw Message Details dialog shows the technical name for “Data Source Format Used” instead of the user-friendly name (68339).

• Usability Bug Fixed: Message Trace “exceptions” sections are always collapsed even when the user saves the workflow with them open (68752).

• Usability Bug Fixed: Fixed broken image on the connector details page on the connector screens section (applicable only to connectors which have screens) (68938).

• Usability Bug Fixed: Some areas of Saltbox don’t adhere to usability or theme standards (68259 68638). Updates have been applied to several pages including Workflow Message Trace page, Delete Project modal, and others.
